Throughout its history, Keurig has debuted many different models, enhancing some and retiring others. This piece walks you through all 18 currently available Keurig models, arranged from the earliest to the latest, with images included for each model. The provided timeline spans from the launch of the K-Classic in 2015 up to the introduction of the K-Cafe Smart in 2022.
The K-classic is the oldest of Keurig’s currently sold single-serve coffee makers, and still one of the most popular. The K-Classic includes simple button controls with a large 48-ounce water reservoir (worth about 6 cups of coffee) and 6, 8, and 10-ounce brew sizes.
Keurig K15 | December 2015
The K15 is the Keurig model I used in college and as far as simplicity goes, this machine takes the cake. This Keurig single-serve coffee maker has two buttons: “On/Off” and “Brew.” It’s not the smallest Keurig available but it is pretty compact so you can stow it away easily or bring it with you on the go.
The K15 does not have a water reservoir so you’ll have to refill it with water every time you brew.
Keurig K-Compact | July 2017
The K-Compact is another one of Keurig’s simpler coffee makers and lies sort of between the K-Classic and K15. There are four buttons: “Power” and “6, 8, and 10 ounce” brew sizes. It also includes a 36oz water reservoir
Keurig K-Select | September 2017
Released in September 2017, the K-Select is the first Keurig coffee maker to include a “Strong” brew button which allows for a darker more intense cup of coffee to be made. This is great for people like myself who like their coffee strong and is also useful when making iced coffee since the coffee will get diluted from ice cubes.
The K-Select includes four brew sizes (6oz, 8oz, 10oz, and 12oz) and a 52oz Water Reservoir
Keurig K-Elite | February 2018
The K-Elite is the first Keurig with iced coffee capability. It also includes temperature control, five brew sizes (4, 6, 8, 10, 12oz), and a “Strong” brew button. Everything that’s needed to make a strong and fresh cup of coffee.
Keurig K-Cafe | June 2018
Why spend $7 on a latte when you can make one yourself? The K-Cafe allows users to make coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos at home with its attached dishwasher-safe milk frother. Users simply froth milk in the frother and then add it to their brewed K cup coffee. The machine has a “Strong” brew button to allow for espresso-like shots.
The K-Cafe also has a large 60oz water reservoir and 6, 8, 10, 12-ounce brew sizes.
Keurig K-Latte | June 2018
The K-Latte is another single-serve coffee maker that also allows you to make lattes and cappuccinos at home. It’s a slimmed-down version of the K-Cafe. It has no water reservoir, 6, 8, and 10-ounce brew sizes, and a non-dishwasher-safe milk frother.
Keurig K-Mini | July 2018
If you’re looking to save space, the K-Mini may be the right machine for you. Released in July 2018, the hallmark of the K-Mini is that it’s only five inches wide, so it’s a coffee maker that fits pretty much anywhere.
The K-Mini brews from 6-12 ounces of coffee, is refilled with water every brew and will fit your travel mug.
Keurig K-Mini Plus | July 2018
Also released in July 2018, the K-Mini Plus is an upgraded version of the K-Mini. Extra features include a removable water reservoir, up to nine K-Cup pod storage, and a “Strong” brew button.
Keurig K-Duo | August 2019
My favorite Keurig coffee maker! The K-Duo is a ground bean drip coffee maker and single-serve K-cup Keurig combined. A shared 60-ounce water reservoir allows you to brew a 6, 8, 10, or 12-cup carafe and a 6, 8, 10, or 12-ounce cup.
This allows you to make single-serve K-cups when you are home alone, and then brew full pots when company comes over (or you’re feeling extra thirsty).
The K-cup brewer also includes the “Strong” brew button.
You can actually set the K Duo to autobrew a pot of coffee in the morning before you even wake up!
Keurig C K-Elite | November 2019
Released in November 2019, the C K-Elite is a well-rounded Keurig machine that can pretty much do it all. It comes with a big 75-ounce water reservoir, a “Strong” brew button, an iced coffee setting, five cup sizes of 4-12 ounces, and temperature adjustment.
Keurig K-Supreme | August 2020
The K-Supreme’s release in 2020 marked the beginning of Keurig’s use of MultiStream Technology. All previous Keurig machines brewed coffee by injecting water out of a single needle through the K-Cup, the new multi-stream technology uses five needles to inject water through the K-Cup, extracting flavor from the coffee beans more evenly and according to Keurig, adding more flavor and aroma to every cup of coffee.
In addition to the multi-stream technology, the K-Supreme includes a 65-ounce position adjustable water reservoir, “Strong” and “Over Ice” buttons, and four brew sizes.
Keurig K-Supreme Plus | August 2020
The K-Supreme Plus includes everything that the K-Supreme does, with saveable individual brewing preferences for up to three users, three different strength and temperature settings, an upgraded 78-ounce water reservoir (about 9 cups), and an extra 12-ounce brew size
Keurig K-Duo Essentials | November 2019
The K-Duo Essentials is a simpler version of the K-Duo. It includes the pot drip coffee maker and single-serve K-cup machine with a shared 60-ounce water reservoir.
Keurig K-Slim | March 2020
The K-Slim looks almost identical to the K-Mini, but it’s notably upgraded with multi-stream technology and a 46-ounce water reservoir.
Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart | August 2021
The K-Supreme Plus Smart includes all the features of the K-Supreme, but with added smart technology which allows the machine to be connected to your phone and brew from anywhere. The Smart also includes BrewID technology which recognizes the difference between K-Cup Pods and customizes the brew settings to each one.
Keurig K-Express | September 2021
The K-Express is very similar to the K-Slim. The less than five-inch wide machine includes a 42-ounce water reservoir, three cup sizes, and a “Strong” brew button.
Keurig K-Cafe Smart | September 2022
The K-Cafe Smart is Keurig’s newest machine. It’s just the K-Cafe but with the added Smart Technology, which allows you to connect your phone and brew from anywhere as well as get recipes and brewing tips from Keurig. It also includes BrewID technology which recognizes the difference between K-Cup Pods and customizes the brew settings to each one.
