How to Replace a Keurig Water Filter?
1. Unplug the machine and locate the water filter location.
Safety first, so you have to unplug your Keurig machine. Move it so you can see the water tank.
In most models, the water tank is usually on the left-hand side or the rear of the machine. Remove the water tank’s top to access the water filter.
2. Remove the filter piece.
You should see a long handle sticking up the water tank. This is the upper filter holder. Hold the handle firmly and lift it to take the filter mechanism out.
The bottom of the filter holder piece is secured in the water tank’s plastic grooves. You should wiggle it back and forth to loosen it or give it a sharp tug to remove it.
Your filter should be black with circular timers if you have a Classic series Keurig. However, if you have K300 and higher models, the filter is tall, clear, and thin.
To remove the old filter cartridge, pinch the tabs at the base of the filter piece with your thumb and index finger. Pull the lower filter holder down to release the old filter. Discard the old filter in the trash can.

After soaking, get the filter and rinse it with a gentle flow of tap water. Rinse for 1 minute.
Also, rinse the lower filter holder with tap water. Remove any pollutants that may have accumulated in the thin mesh layer during daily use.
5. Install the new filter.
Slide the new filter into the filter holder. Ensure that the rounded top side is facing up. Put the lower filter holder below it and snap the two edges together around the filter.
If your filter has a dial, set up the dial for two months to remind you to change your filter.
